About YWEC

The Young Women’s Entrepreneurial Collective (YWEC) was created to increase viable involvement from a growing audience of young female entrepreneurs, ages 30 and under, in and around Prince George’s County. The creation and implementation of the YWEC as a sanctioned division of WBO-PGC further contributes to the economic and social power of women-owned businesses. Through education, support, and mentorship these existing and budding entrepreneurs will be equipped with the tools to develop, grow and sustain successful businesses.
The 24-year-old business owner and med school candidate, Jorre Jackson spearheaded the creation of YWEC to improve outreach initiatives to a younger audience and provide a platform to express and influence. "In growing up with WBO-PGC, I have been fortunate to experience the strength and efficacy of a united front against the challenges presented to “minority” women-owned businesses by social, political, and economic aspects. I believe many business owners in my age group can benefit from such a powerhouse organization in how to best navigate the realities of business ownership," said Jackson.
